PULP: First of all thanks for taking the time to sit down and give us some Pulp! How are you feeling today?
X: Hi, I feel great.
PULP: You're an artist and your brand is called Anitya Fantome, why/how did you come up with that name?
X: Anitya is from Buddhism word meaning “Impermanence.” Also known as the philosophical problem of change. Fantôme is a French word meaning ghost. It looks like my name “Fan" To Me.
PULP: Would you say you have a manifesto as an artist? If so, what is it?
X: Honestly I wouldn’t say I have manifesto as an artist. I'm just very passionate about the things that I do on daily basis, such as painting and designing clothing.
PULP: If you could only recommend one design book for everyone ?
X: Herman Miller - A Way of Living
PULP: Looking at fashion right now, what do you think people will be wearing in 50 years?
X: I have no idea. I think that’s the beauty of fashion as it’s something that is both unknown and a surprise.
PULP: We know you have a semi-exclusive collaboration with Base Miami, how did that relationship start?
X: We met at one of my very first exhibitions during Art Basel Miami in 2017. By the time I had six designs of screen printed t-shirts printed by myself, we decided start selling at Base. One week later everything sold out.
PULP: Favorite muralist?
X: Michelangelo
PULP: You incorporate your iconic skull into most of your work, what's the meaning behind that?
X: Everyone is the same under their skin. The true self.
PULP: When you're in your "creative zone," which artists are you listening to?
X: Italian pianist Ludovico Einaudi
PULP: Do you have any tips for young artists that might be reading this?
X: Discipline! Discipline! Discipline!
PULP: Anything coming up in the future that Pulp should know about?
X: Not really. I’d rather surprise you.
